In JULIVI system, pieces are saved as part of a model (object). Pieces of one model are separated by materials and joined under this model code in the general database.
Organizational operations with pieces are performed in the window “Work with the database” (command 
- “Object/ Work with the database”). PIECES window tab is used to open, copy, make additional grading, delete pieces, perform control of contents, print specifications, etc.
Screen operations with pieces are performed with the help of the functions of the vertical screen menu of the program in the left part of the working window. Screen operations (rotations, shifts, folds, superposition of pieces) do not change the view and structure of the piece and are not saved in the database.

The piece in the system is a set of contours with 3 compulsory contours:
1) Grain line, which determines position of the piece;
2) Inscription, which serves the place for indication of piece parameters;
3) Main contour, which determines shape of the piece.
You can work with two types of main contours: Finished view or Working cut (i.e., cut in its initial view, without piece formatting in the tab SEAMS – ledges, corners, bottom turndowns).
Contour Cut is always derivative, it is created and depends on the main contour.
